Ruth Ensminger

Ruth A. Ensminger, 88, of Iola, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2013. Ruth was born September 20, 1925, in California, Missouri, the daughter of Lloyd and Margaret (Hawthorne) Lawson. She grew up in California, MO where she graduated from high school in 1945. Ruth attended Warrensburg State Teachers College and started teaching at age 17 and taught three terms. On April 21, 1946, Ruth married Ralph Lee Ensminger at Eldon, Missouri. They made their home on the Ensminger family farm northwest of Moran until 1994 when they moved to Iola. Ralph preceded her in death June 24, 2000. Ruth was a homemaker and attended Fellowship Regional Church. SURVIVORS: 2 Daughters: Donna Boyd & husband, Dick of Moran, KS and Beth Loudabarger & husband, Lonnie of Mansfield, TX 3 Grandchildren: Kent Boyd & wife, Shannon of Moran, KS, Trenna DeLaGarza & husband, Tony of Pflugerville, TX and J.D. Loudabarger & wife, Kelli of Lawrence, KS 8 Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Lex Lawson & his wife, Paula, and granddaughter Kimberly Holloway. VISITATION: 6:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 p.m., Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, at Fellowship Regional Church in Iola.
