Ruth Mansfield

Zona "Ruth" (Ross) Mansfield, 78, of Chanute, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute. Ruth was born May 22, 1935, in Iola, the daughter of Howard O. "Guss" and Zona Mae (Culbertson) Ross. She grew up in Iola and graduated from Iola High School. Ruth married Johnny E. Leroy, Jr. and they made their home in Chanute. They had been married 34 years and had three daughters before they divorced. Ruth has worked at Allen County Bank & Trust in Iola, Humboldt National Bank, First National Bank and Bank of Commerce both in Chanute. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Humboldt. She enjoyed bowling and playing bridge. SURVIVORS: 3 Daughters: Julie L. Follmer of Chanute, Stacy J. Carpenter & husband, Shane of Chanute, and Kit A. Rogers of Humboldt 1 Brother: Howard Ross & wife, Peggy of Iola 5 Grandchildren: Ryan Follmer, Gavin Solomon, Trezz Rogers, Siara Carpenter and Kaleena Cummings 7 Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents. Cremation has taken place. MEMORIAL SERVICE: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 22, 2013, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Humboldt Private family inurnment will be in the City of Gas Cemetery at a later date.
