Sandra Chapman

Sandra Jo Chapman, 51, of Chanute, Kansas, formerly of Iola, Kansas, died Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. Sandra was born December 17, 1959, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Leslie James and Norma Jean (Wilson) Chapman, Sr. She attended Iola schools. On June 3, 1978, Sandra married Larry Ewy and they made their home in Iola. SURVIVORS: 1 Daughter: Molly Hedges & husband, Doug of Blackwell, OK 3 Sons: Larry G. Ewy, Jr., Joe Ewy and Mitchell Ewy all of Blackwell, OK Her Mother: Norma McCulley of Iola, KS 1 Brother: William "Bill" Chapman, Sr. & wife, Anna of Humboldt, KS 3 Sisters: Pam Riebel & husband, Jerry of LaHarpe, KS, Marsha Karr & husband, Harold of LaHarpe, KS, and Cindy Ewing of Gas, KS 6 Grandchildren: Colten, Hannah, Emily, Maddex, Savannah and Kaden She was preceded in death by her father, Leslie J. Chapman, Sr., brother Leslie J. "Jim" Chapman, Jr. and former husband, Larry Ewy. Family and friends will meet at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 12, 2011, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola to leave for burial at 2:00 p.m. in the LaHarpe Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Sandra Chapman Memorial Fund and may be left with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, which is in charge of arrangements.
