Sandra Lee Hinkel

Sandra Lee Hinkel, 69, of Humboldt, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016, at Diversicare of Chanute. Sandra was born December 24, 1946, at Elsmore, Kansas, the only child of John and Audrey (Acton) Hill. She grew up at Elsmore and was a member of the last graduating class at Elsmore High School. She married Gerald Dean Sears, Sr. and they lived at Erie most of their lives together. In 1986, she and Craig Ross were married and they lived in Iola. He died in 1995. In 1997, Sandra married Lynn Hinkel and they have made their home in Chanute, Iola and for the past 4 years in Humboldt. Survivors include her husband, Lynn of the home; 1 step-daughter, Missy Hinkel of Chanute and her daughter, Megan Hartman and her children; and 1 step-son, Leland Hinkel, wife Miranda and their 3 children of Wichita, KS. Her parents and her son, Gerald "Dean" Sears, Jr. have preceded her in death. Memorial services will be 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016 at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service in Iola. Inurnment will be in the Elsmore Cemetery at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Tri-Valley Developmental Center and may be left with the funeral home.
