Sandra Lee Hosley

Sandra Lee Anderson Hosley, age 90, passed away on February 22,2023, at Stratford Commons Memory Care in Overland Park, Kansas.

Sandra was born December 22, 1932 in Belton, Missouri to John Byron "Barney" and Veda Mae (Bidwell) Anderson. At a young age the family moved to a farm near Lone Elm, Kansas. After the passing of her mother in 1942, the family continued to in live the Lone Elm area. Sandra attended Pleasant Ridge School near Lone Elm. Later the family moved to Bayard, Kansas where Sandra's father ran the local elevator and Sandra helped with the bookwork. She graduated from Moran High School with the class of 1950.

After graduating she moved to Fort Scott, Kansas, where she worked for Key Manufacturing. She met Aaron Hosley at a dance in Moran and that's where their love began. They married July 6, 1952. They resided on the farm south of Kincaid, Kansas for many years. They were blessed with three daughters. Sandra was a homemaker until 1967, when she took a job as the school secretary at Crest Middle and Elementary School. Following 29 years of faithful service to countless families and students, she retired in 1996.

Sandra was a member of the Kincaid/ Selma United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Advancers Club. After retirement Sandra became deeply involved with the Kincaid Fair, helping with the 4-H exhibits. She sewed many beautiful dresses for her daughters and took great pride in them. Sandra began attending Sunflower Quilt Guild, making countless quilts and wall hangings. She also found joy in weekly get togethers with Kincaid Friendship Quilters. Attending school functions and sporting events was a big part of Sandra and Aaron's life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Aaron of 68 years; brother Clyde; sister Nancy and son-in-law David Bedenbender.

Sandra is survived by her daughters, Karon (Randy) West of Colony, Kansas, Diane Bedenbender of Maize, Kansas and Teresa (Lynn) Cramer of Arkansas City, Kansas; grandchildren Eric (Shay) West, Ryan (Amy Chandler) West, Blake (Ashley) West, Brooke (Kipp) Connell, Trent (Alisha) Bedenbender, Jana (Robert) Malone, Brent (Ashley) Stalnaker, Darick (Kayla) Stalnaker and several great-grandchildren.

The family will greet friends on Tuesday Febuary 28, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at The Venue, 1883 U.S. Hwy 54 Iola, Kansas. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday March 1, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. at Kincaid-Selma United Methodist Church, Kincaid, Kansas. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Mildred, Kansas.

Memorial Contributions are suggested to Kincaid High School Community Center and can be left in care of Feuerborn Funeral Services.
