Sandra Sue Houk, age 78, of Moran, Kansas, passed away peacefully Sunday March 31, 2019, at Allen County Regional Hospital in Iola, Kansas. Sue was born August 12, 1940, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Ollin Lynch and Wenona (Wing) Lynch. Sue attended high school in Yates Center. During high school she worked as a car hop and then a waitress. On November 16, 1973, she married Roger Houk in Iola, Kansas. They were blessed with four of hers, two of his, and one together. Sue was a day care provider for many years, and made a huge impact on lives of many of the children she took care of. Sue loved to garden. She was an avid sports fan, cheering on teams from pro sports all the way down to her children's and grandchildren's sports teams. Sue was a very determined, dedicated, loving and nurturing soul. Sue always gave from the heart and she never expected anything in return. Her kindness and compassion is something that will be missed greatly. Sue was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather Leo Stockebrand Sr.;one infant sister Sheri Lynch; two brother-in-laws Wesley Spencer Jr., Eugene Hoag. Sue is survived by her husband of the home; seven children Tammy Splechter and husband Earl of Yates Center, Ks, David Patterson and wife Beth of Yates Center, Ks, Ben Patterson of Gas City, Ks, Bret Houk and wife Kenda of Edmond, Ok, Elizabeth George of McKinney, Tx, Clint Houk and wife Loren of Collinsville, Ok, Zachary Houk of Moran, Ks; twenty grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; two sisters Sally Hoag of Arkansas City, Ks, Wyvonne Spencer of Yates Center, Ks; one brother Junior Stockebrand and wife Dee of Wichita, Ks; and numerous other relatives. A visitation for Sue will be held Friday April 5, 2019, from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Venue, 1883 US-Hwy 54 Iola, Kansas. A celebration of life service will be Saturday April 6, 2019, 2:00p.m. at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel. Inurnment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Mildred, Kansas. Memorials in honor of Sue are suggested to Allen County Regional Hospital Memorials, and can be left with Feuerborn Family Funeral Service.
