John Scot Schuster, age 38, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2012. He was born on January 8, 1974, in Garnett, Kansas, the son of John L. Schuster and Carolyn (Brittingham) Schuster. Scot was a lifetime resident of Anderson County, living in Garnett, Greeley and the Bush City areas. He attended grade school at Garnett, and Junior High at Greeley before graduating from Garnett High School in 1992. Following high school he attended Neosho Community College. Scot was united in marriage to Audrey Sumners on November 14, 1997, in Miami, Oklahoma. He was a welder and had worked at Haven Steel and Fashions in Ottawa, Kansas; Daugherty Steel in Paola, Kansas. He was currently working at Astro in Ottawa. He had also worked at South Fork Traders in Garnett. Scot enjoyed riding and working on motorcycles especially working on them with his son. He also liked to fish, play golf, go camping and ride his mule. His greatest joy was his kids. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Tyler Sumners; grandparents Ivan and Louise Brittingham and John and Margaret Schuster; and brother-in-law Evan Sumners. Scot is survived by his wife, Audrey Schuster of the home; daughter Kaylee Schuster and son Gage Schuster of the home; his mother, Carolyn Schuster of Greeley, Kansas; his father John Schuster and wife Peggy of Garnett; brother David Schuster and wife Kathy of Richmond, Kansas; stepsister Tracey Garrett of Duncan, Oklahoma; stepbrothers Troy Hoffman and wife Molly of Garnett; Tony Hoffman and wife Posey of Forestil, Missouri; Tim Hoffman and wife Jodi of Iola, Kansas; Tom Hoffman and wife LaTisha of Garnett; father-in-law and mother-in-law Larry and Martha "Pete" Sumners of Centerville, Kansas; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
