Sharon Kay Trester, 64, of LaHarpe, Kansas, died Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at her home. Sharon was born May 13, 1946 in Wichita, Kansas the daughter of Charles and Edith Lavon (Hudlin) Burkholder, Sr. She grew up in the Wichita area. Sharon married Glen Barnes and they lived in Wichita until moving to Iola in 1976 and to Cheney, Kansas in 1979. They were divorced. She moved to LaHarpe in 1992 and married Ivan Trester on September 7, 1994. They made their home in LaHarpe. Sharon worked for Russell Stover Candies until her health failed. SURVIVORS: Husband: Ivan Trester of the home 1 Son: Jeff Burkholder & wife, Brenda of Cheney, KS 2 Daughters: Teresa Lindabury & husband, Earl of Cheney, KS and Sherry Valadez & husband, Carlos of Tulsa, OK 3 Step-Children: Ivan Trester, Jr. and Teresa Trester both of Madison, KS and Robin Trester of rural Emporia, KS 3 Brothers: George Burkholder, Jon Burkholder of Park City, KS and Ricky Burkholder of Branson, MO 4 Sisters: Betty Cox, Marla Barnes, Rhonda Ortega and Charlene Shoemaker all of Wichita, Kansas 7 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by a son, Michael "Mike" Barnes and a brother, Charles "Chuck" Burkholder, Jr. Cremation has taken place. Graveside inurnment services will be at a later date at the Fairview Cemetery at Mildred, Kansas Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, is in charge of arrangements.
