Sheila Jean Smith, 31, of Iola, Kansas, died Sunday, June 21, 2009, in Iola. Sheila was born July 20, 1977, in Iola, the daughter of Ronald Dean "Deanie" and Barbara Jean (Spear) Smith. She grew up in Iola and attended Iola schools. Sheila enjoyed listening to her music. SURVIVORS: Mother: Barbara J. Slifer of Iola, Kansas Companion: Tony Thompson of Iola, Kansas 4 Children: Laney Ewing of Iola, Kansas, Makye, Tyler and Jordan 2 Sisters: Gloria Jean Spear & husband, William Churning of Iola, Kansas and Rachael Smith of Chanute, Kansas 1 Brother: Tommy Hammer of Iola, Kansas Her Grandmother: Mildred Smith of Shawnee Mission, Kansas A host of aunts, uncles and cousins She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Dean "Deanie" Smith in 2009.
