Shirley Rae Barham, age 66, of Fort Lupton, Colorado, formerly of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on September 24, 2009 at University Hospital in Aurora, Colorado. She was born on December 6, 1942, in Garnett, Kansas, the daughter of Norman and Ida (Worthington) Henry. She grew up in the area. Shirley was united in marriage to Ray Cummings in 1961 at Lyndon, Kansas. This union was blessed with one son, Steve. They later divorced. Shirley married Russell Barham in 1969 at Fort Worth, Texas, this union was blessed with one son, Rusty. She was a homemaker and enjoyed country music and dancing. She loved fishing, rodeos, and barrel racing. Shirley was an honorary member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #102. She was a loving, caring mother and a devoted sister. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by two sons, Steve Cummings and wife Jenny of Fort Lupton, Colorado; George "Rusty" Barham and wife Terri of LaSalle, Colorado; three sisters, Norma Jo Bowman of Mound City, Kansas; Helen Burns of Wichita, Kansas; Margie O'Neal of Flower Mound, Texas; eight grandchildren; Brittney Cummings, Keith Barham, Breanne Cummings, Jolene Martin, Gregory Blackwell, Breana Blackwell, Cassandra Blackwell, Robert Blackwell; and two great grandchildren, Leah Martin and Kalynn Martin. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2009, at the First Christian Church in Garnett, Kansas. Burial will follow at the Garnett Cemetery in Garnett, Kansas. Family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home in Garnett. Memorial contributions may be made to help defray funeral expenses.
