Shirley R. Heiman

Shirley R. Heiman, age 66, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021, at her home in Chanute, Kansas.

Shirley was born July 1, 1955, to Delmer and Theresa (Maschler) Lorance in Iola, Kansas. She graduated from Colony, Kansas with the class of 1973. Over the years, Shirley worked various jobs. On March 6, 1982, she married Charlie Heiman in Humboldt, Kansas. Both of them having children from previous relations, their family quickly became one with their daughters, Amy and Michelle. Their union was later blessed with a son, Jeremy.

Shirley enjoyed her pets and her flowers. Brody was one of her biggest companions, along with Bella. She loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. Shirley was tiny, but her personality was not. She was a little bit ornery but she was also the woman you could depend on when you needed her the most. She will be remembered for her loving and caring nature.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Delmer and Theresa Lorance; brother, Michael Lorance; and infant son, Benjamin Lorance.

Shirley is survived by husband of almost 40 years, Charlie Heiman; children, Amy Reel, Michelle Pupanek, and Jeremy Heiman; six grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.

A funeral service to honor the life of Shirley will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service in Iola, Kansas. Burial will follow at Colony Cemetery in Colony, Kansas, following the service.
