Stanley Tawney

Stanley Dean Tawney, 57, of Iola, Kansas, died Saturday, August 28, 2010, at Manor Care in Overland Park, Kansas. Stanley was born October 13, 1952 in Iola, Kansas the son of Murry A. and Betty Jo (Robb) Tawney. He grew up at LaHarpe and Iola and graduated from Iola High School in 1971. He has worked for Haldex in Iola and Nu-Way in Chanute. Stanley attended the First Baptist Church in Chanute, Kansas. SURVIVORS: 1 Uncle: John Robb and wife, Hazel of Humboldt, KS 2 Aunts: Dorothy Hemphill of Derby, KS and Roberta Jean of Cape Girardeau, MO A number of cousins He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Murry L. Tawney. FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. The Rev. Rick Qualls will officiate.
