Stephen P. Katzer

Stephen P. Katzer, age 94, of Garnett, Kansas, died Monday, December 10, 2007 at Anderson County Hospital, Garnett, Kansas. Stephen was born July 7, 1913 at Garnett, Kansas, the son of the late Joseph Katzer and the late Catherine (Roeckers) Katzer. He married Margaret M. Catter on June 15, 1948 at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Garnett, Kansas. He was a member of Holy Angels Church and the Knights of Columbus, and VFW. Stephen enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and dominoes. He was an accomplished gardener, with an expertise in grafting trees. Stephen is survived by his wife, Margaret M. Katzer of Garnett, Kansas; two daughters, Loretta Nastasio and husband Vince of Blue Springs, Missouri; Theresa Warner and fianc Peter Schumann of Garnett, Kansas; and one son: Larry Katzer and wife Karen of Garnett, Kansas; two sisters, Sr. M. Mildred Katzer of Richmond, Kansas; Rita Jackson of Ottawa, Kansas; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Ambrose, Herman, Walter and Leonard Katzer; three sisters, Eunice, Sr. M. Imelda, and Sr. M. Genevieve. Visitation will be Thursday evening at 7:00 pm at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 219 S. Oak P.O. Box 408, Garnett, Kansas. The funeral will be Friday morning at 10:30 am at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 514 E. 4th Ave., Garnett where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by Father Brian Klingele. Burial will follow at the Holy Angels Cemetery, Garnett, Kansas. Memorials may be made to St. Rose School.
