Sterlin Ray Michael, 75, of Iola, Kansas, died Monday, October 22, 2012, at his home. Sterlin was born August 16, 1937, in Anderson, Missouri, the son of Albert Ray and Beulah Winona (Mitchell) Michael. He moved with the family to Iola. On August 16, 1956, Sterlin married Vivian Mae Owen and they made their home in Iola. He worked for Walton Foundry for 25 years, in the oil fields, and then for U.S.D. 257 until he retired. SURVIVORS: His Wife: Vivian Michael of the home 4 Sons: Tim Michael & wife, Cheri of Iola, KS, Daniel Michael of Iola, KS, Mark Michael & wife, Cassie of Iola, KS, and John Michael & wife, Jeannie of Emporia, KS 1 Daughter: Theresia Turner of Iola, KS His Father-in-Law: Phil Butler of Iola, KS 1 Brother: Junior of Oklahoma 2 Sisters: Pat Nelson of McCloud, OK and Mae Hayes of Topeka, KS 15 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by an infant son Wendoll Lee Michael, 7 brothers and 2 sisters. VISITATION: 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. FUNERAL SERVICE: 11:00 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola.
