Steven Don McDonald was taken home in the arms of our Lord April 14, 2023.
He was born December 11, 1948, to Don and Ann McDonald in Iola, Kansas.
Steven was born the youngest of four siblings and grew up on his family farm in rural Iola. He graduated from Iola High school, joined the Navy in 1967 following his big brother Dennis's footsteps, serving a total of four years to include brother duty in Guam and a tour in Vietnam.
Steven met Mary Beth Rosacker at Allen Community College in 1971 and the two were married August 12, 1972. To this union were born three children and almost 51 years of countless cherished memories.
Steven graduated from Emporia State University in the early 80's with his Bachelors in Business and minor in Psychology. He excelled as an auto salesman serving over fifteen years with leading dealerships in Topeka Kansas. He retired early and spent the majority if his time working his Auburn homestead with Mary and spending time with his children, grandchildren, cherished friends, and neighbors.
Steven was a faithful servant of His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and had recently started attending Salem Church in rural Iola, Kansas, after moving back to Iola area to be closer to family. Steven was a lifelong Methodist and lead many to the feet Christ during his earthside journey.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents Don and Ann McDonald of Iola; his brother Dennis McDonald and sister-in-law Lafern McDonald of Iola; and his brother-in-law Marty Wright of Arizona.
Steven is survived by his wife Mary McDonald of Iola, Kansas; daughters Joy Watson of Topeka, Kansas, and Wendy Froggatte (Jared) of Iola, Kansas; son Donnie McDonald of Topeka, Kansas; sister Karen Wright of Arizona, brother Ron McDonald (Janet) of Tennessee; eight grandchildren Maliah Watson, EJ Watson, Miah Watson, Jedd Froggatte, Nina Houk, Hannah Froggatte, Joseph Froggatte, and Nate Froggatte; and five great-grandchildren EJ Watson II, Myles Houk, Brett Houk, Genesis Froggatte, and Wren Hughes.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, April 24, 2023, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service. Inurnment will follow in the Iola Township Cemetery, Piqua, Kansas.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Salem Church or Sheltered Living Topeka, Kansas, and can be left in the care of Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Hwy 54, Iola, Kansas, 66749.
