Steven Roy Taylor, 59, of Iola, Kansas, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016, in Iola. Steve was born February 2, 1957, in Ottawa, Kansas, the son of Roy and Doris (George) Taylor. He grew up in Ottawa until the family moved to Lyndon. He was a 1975 graduate of Lyndon High School. On June 21, 1975, Steve married Cindy J. Smith in Lyndon. They have made their home in Iola most of their married lives and raised their family here. Steve worked as a meat cutter for Greave's Nuway in Iola before becoming a salesman at Shield's Motor Company in Chanute for over 25 years. He was a member of the American Legion Riders in Chanute. Steve enjoyed riding his motorcycle, camping, fishing ,boating, bowling, and operating TNT DJ's with his son. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Cindy Taylor of the home; 4 children, Misty Seeber & husband, David of Wichita, Cristy Holloway & husband, Dallas of Lawrence, KS, Steven Taylor and Crystal Clay of Iola, and Crystal Upadhayay & husband, Pawan of Wichita; his mother, Doris Taylor of Olathe, KS; 1 sister, Cheryl Schwang & husband, Joe of Olathe; and 7 grandchildren, Alexis Seeber, Brady Seeber, Keagon Taylor, Ella Holloway, Brandi Taylor, Kylea Taylor and Jazlynn Upadhayay. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Taylor and his sister, Sharon Greaves. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thurs., Dec. 29, 2016 at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service in Iola. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Fri., Dec. 30, 2016, at First Christian Church, 1608 Oregon Road, in Iola.
