Sue Colgin

June 8, 1953 — August 2, 2024

Mary Sue Colgin, age 71, of Colony, Kansas, passed away peacefully at her home.

Sue was born on June 8, 1953, to Gerald and Myrtle (Thompson) Bickham in Liberal, Kansas. She attended school in Louisburg and graduated from Paola High School with the class of 1971.

She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years; children, Angie Bowen Clemmer and husband Jay of Liberty, Missouri, Gary Bowen and wife Stephanie of Yates Center, Kansas, grandchildren, Willow Clemmer, Jackson Bowen, and Jamie-Lea Bowen; siblings, Jessie Patterson of Topeka, Kansas, Virgie Lepper and husband Roger of Independence, Missouri, and Viola Plante and husband Rick of Midland, North Carolina.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Judy McKiearnan and brother, Gerald (Jerry) Bickham.

Sue and Kim met on December 9, 1989, and decided quickly they were meant for each other. They were united in marriage on June 30, 1990 at Colony United Methodist Church in Colony, Kansas. They made their home in the country outside Colony, where they lived their whole marriage. They made so many memories doing what they enjoyed and loved. From bottle feeding baby goats, raising kids, and spending time together in the shop Kim built for her to create countless pieces of beautiful furniture, made the 34 years fly by.

Sue and her husband, Kim, dedicated many years to coaching and operating a baseball team for kids with special needs. They wanted everyone and anyone to love the game and would give every effort to involve them. This happened not only on the field but taking them to many different places, bowling parties, zoo trips, Royals games, anything to bring a smile to their faces. Many days and nights, many bats and balls, many kids and a whole lot of love and passion for over 15 years. Bringing joy to children and even adults needing care and comfort, they were able to provide for that for them.

Cremation will take place and the family did a Celebration of Life before Sue's passing per her wishes. Memorial contributions are suggested to Colony United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society and may be left in the care of the funeral home. Condolences for the family can be left at www.feuerbornfuneral.com.
