Alice Telline Booth, age 95, of Lee's Summit, Missouri, formerly of Iola, Kansas, died Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Truman Medical Center Lakewood Long Term Care. Telline was born July 24, 1916, at Lone Elm, Kansas, the daughter of Walter and Maude (Hoffmeier) Hester. She graduated from Lone Elm High School in 1934. On September 8, 1936, Telline married Wilbur Leroy Booth. He preceded her in death on January 20, 1999. Telline has worked as an administrative assistant at Allen County Hospital, a clerk at Ruth Lynn's Dress Shop and for the Iola Register. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Eastern Star and Allen County Hospital Auxiliary. She had a love of nature and enjoyed gardening, collecting antiques, travel, music and art appreciation. Her love for her family and her appreciation of nature both speak volumes about her sensitivity and caring. Her thoughtful gestures, guidance and kindness to others will be remembered with endearment. Her family and friends have been enriched by her long and healthy life. Survivors include daughters, Merla Temple, MA, RN of Overland Park, KS, Rose Zwerenz MD & husband, Bruno Zwerenz MD of Lee's Summit, MO, grandchildren David Huggins & wife, Jill of Tallahassee, FL, Yasmine Hooper & husband, Chris Hooper, DDS of Virginia Beach, VA, and Zane Zwerenz & wife, Cheryl of Lee's Summit, MO, great-grandchildren Sydney, Harrison, Lindsey Rose, Adam, Melanie, Kaiden, Mackenzie and Preston, sister Vera Jeanne Kershner of Overland Park, KS and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Booth, sister Lorine Church, brother Walter Hollis Hester and parents Walter and Maude Hester. Burial was Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at Highland Cemetery in Iola. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Grace Hospice, 9233 Ward Parkway, Suite 201, Kansas City, MO 64114. Memorial gifts may also be left with Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, which was in charge of arrangements.
