Terry Coover

Terry D. Coover, age 79, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024, at Richmond Healthcare in Richmond, Kansas.

He was born on January 24, 1945, to Forrest and Lorene (Johnson) Coover in Winfield, Kansas. Terry graduated from Highland Park High School in Topeka, Kansas.

Terry was united in marriage to Donna Branson on July 6, 1968. This marriage was blessed with three sons.

He has worked for Santa Fe, KP&L tree trimmers, Goodyear, Dunbar & Sons in Lawrence, Kansas. He was a Fire Chief at Eudora Township Volunteer Fire Department and also President of the Douglas County Fire Chief Association. Terry was also the President of the Christian Motorcycle Association, Heavens Angels Chapter, Lawrence, Kansas. Terry served in the Army National Guard as a medic and firefighter during the Vietnam War.

Terry loved living life on the farm and using his talents to build car trailers and race cars. Terry's knowledge was passed on to his sons and will never be forgotten. Terry was passionate about hunting, fishing and family times. He enjoyed meeting people and never met a stranger, he would always talk to them as if he had always known them.

Terry was preceded in death by his son, Paul Coover.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Donna Coover, and two sons, Brian of Topeka, Kansas, and Jason of Weatherford, Texas; sister, Margene Pressler of Florida, ten grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett, Kansas.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project and can be left in the care of the funeral home.
