Thelma L. Davison, age 89, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2010, at the Richmond HealthCare and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond, Kansas. She was born on September 26, 1920, near Westphalia, Kansas, the daughter of Henry J. and Viola Jane (Boots) Filbrun. She was baptized by Brother Ira Hirt into the Old German Baptist Brethren Fellowship, on June 12, 1938. She lived faithful to her vows, until her death. Thelma and William Ezra Davison were married at her parents' home on January 7, 1945. They shared the joys and sorrows of life for 65 years. She received much comfort from the anointing service on November 15, 2009. She was a good wife and mother, and many enjoyed her good cooking. Her concern was constantly for her children and grandchildren. She was an excellent sewer, making hundreds of bonnets and coverings for others in her earlier years. Many little girls were blessed with new dresses that she made. Thelma also loved singing. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Martha Beckner; and one brother, Alva Filbrun. Thelma is survived by her loving husband, Ezra Davison; her son, Calvin Davison; daughter Janell Sutton; five grandchildren, William, Kathy, Roger, Randy and Tonya; six great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Gladys Filbrun and Mildred Davison; many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday February 1, 2010 at the Old German Baptist Brethren Church in Westphalia, Kansas. Burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery, Westphalia, Kansas. The family will greet friends from 6:00 - 7:00 PM, Sunday evening at the funeral home.
