Thelma Nadine McCall, age 89, of Moran, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Moran Manor, Moran, Kansas. She was born April 26, 1921, at Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of John and Hattie (Henderson) Brady. Thelma attended schools at Carneiro, Kansas, growing up in this area. Thelma married Wayne G. McCall on June 7, 1937 in Kansas City, Kansas, and shared 69 years together. This union was blessed with three children. Thelma and Wayne worked for a company unloading trucks of produce, and then started working for a farmer. The couple moved back and forth from California to Kansas many times over the years. Wayne and Thelma owned a gas station in Kansas, Brady and McCall Services. In California, they built houses between regular jobs of logging and working in the gold mines. They purchased their farm in March of 1954 in Allen County. They made this their home farming and milking cows. Thelma was a member of the Moran United Methodist Church, the Moran Club 54, and Walnut Grove Community Club. Thelma loved volunteering with the church for the Church dinners along with rummage sales for Moran Days. She loved to work in her garden, loved to cook for her family and was an out of this world mother and grandmother. Thelma loved to play the piano and taught herself to play by ear. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, John and Hattie Brady; her husband, Wayne McCall on October 12, 2006; four brothers, John Brady Jr., Lloyd Brady, William Brady, and Leon Brady; and one sister, Viola Brady. She is survived by one daughter, Burma June (B.J.) Gonzalez and husband Ray of Bronson, Kansas; two sons, Dan McCall and wife Donna; Randy McCall and wife Audrey, all of Moran, Kansas; seven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and one brother, Kenneth Brady of Orangeville, California. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at the Moran United Methodist Church, with burial following in the Moran Cemetery. The family will be present to greet friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel at Moran, Kansas.
