Thomas "Tom" Huston

Thomas "Tom" C. Huston, age 92, of Kincaid, Kansas, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016 at his home. He was born July 20, 1924, in Monticello, Kansas, the son of Harry and Florence (Dugan) Huston. He graduated from Shawnee Mission High School. Tom worked for the State of Kansas Road Department, while he was farming. Tom was a farmer for 70 years in the Kansas City area before moving to the Kincaid area in 1999. He married Joanna (Murray) Orr on October 5, 1999 after being lifelong partners since 1977 at Selma Church, Selma, Kansas. Tom was a member of the Mason Blue Lodge of Wyandotte County, Kansas for 67 years, Kansas Old Time Fiddlers, Pickers and Singers for at least 30 years. He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Bess Mahaffie; one niece, Lillian Brown. Tom is survived by his wife Joanna Huston, of the home; one stepdaughter, Roberta Orr-Roach and wife Edna of Garnett, Kansas; one nephew, Ron Mahaffie and wife Kay of Pueblo West, Colorado; and many great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 20, 2016, a Kincaid-Selma United Methodist Church, Kincaid, with burial following in the Kincaid Cemetery.
