Timothy Allen Tucker

Timothy Allen Tucker, age 59, of Garnett, Kansas passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022 at the Anderson County Hospital, Garnett.

Tim was born on October 19, 1963 at Spokane, Washington. He was the first of two sons born to Thomas Ralph Tucker and Sharon (Whitacre) Tucker. Tim grew up in Spokane, living in the National Parks while Tom worked as a park ranger. In 1976 they moved to Auburn, Kansas before moving to Ottawa, where Tim graduated with the class of 1982. Following high school, Tim earned his ASE certified mechanical degree from Bailey Technical School in Kansas City, Missouri. On May 10, 1986, Tim was united in marriage to Donna Lankard, their union was blessed with two daughters, Carissa and Tiffany. They later divorced. Tim worked as a mechanic at Henke Chrysler in Ottawa until the business closed. He then began working at Wheeler's Automotive, eventually he opened Tucker's Radiator, within the Wheeler location. On June 15, 1991, Tim married Joni Thorp, they were blessed with two sons, Aaron and Colten. In 1996 Tim and his family moved to Garnett and he began working as a surveyor for Shafer Kline & Warren until his health no longer allowed in 2012.

Throughout his life there were a few common themes, Harleys, hot rods, and horsepower. Tim enjoyed helping others, and his skills from construction to being a mechanic came in handy. In his free time he loved going to the lake where he enjoyed fishing and riding jet skis. He was a fanatical Chiefs fan, he could always be counted on to be watching the game and you better not be in the way of the TV. Tim loved riding his Harley and in later years he enjoyed sharing the motorcycle passion with his grandkids as he worked on their dirt bikes and drinking beer. Tim built several cars over the years, his favorite was his 1973 Barracuda. He loved attending area car shows and spent many years helping his dad, John, with the Ol Marais car show in Ottawa.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Lana Tucker and Sharon and John Wise; grandparents, Roberta and Eugene Whitacre, Everett and Marybeth Tucker and Frank and Leona Wise; and his brother, Trever Tucker, on April 8, 2014.

He is survived by his beloved dog, Ginny; wife, Joni; two daughters and two sons, Carissa Crowley and husband, Eric, and Tiffany Tucker of Ottawa, Aaron Tucker and wife, Courtney, of Garnett, and Colten Tucker of Lawrence, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Seth Conner, Bryce and Raegan Crowley, Genesis and Kaiden Hermreck, Ryden and Rilya Tucker; brother, Adam Wise and wife, Jennifer, of Ottawa; sister, Andrea Gladson and husband, Rob of Olathe, Kansas.

Memorial services for Tim will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 7, 2023 at the Garnett VFW, 1507 S Elm St, Garnett, KS 66032.
