Tom Fudge, Sr., age 72, of LaHarpe, Kansas, died Tuesday, November 15, 2011, at his home. Tom was born May 16, 1939, in Iola, Kansas, the son of Harry and Obreta (Vest) Fudge. On May 3, 1957, Tom married Karren J. Batemon in Carlyle, Kansas. Tom worked for M & M Packing along with working pipeline construction in different parts of the country before settling a mile south of Gas City where he operated a salvage yard. He drove trucks for Ellsworth, SEKAN and Whitaker Construction. Tom and Karren have made their home in LaHarpe for four years. SURVIVORS: His wife of 54 years: Karren Fudge of the home 1 Son: Tom Fudge, Jr. of LaHarpe, KS 2 Daughters: Brenda Bailey of Westphalia, KS and Carla Stierwalt of Iola, KS 2 Brothers: Mike Fudge of LaHarpe, KS, and Joe Moore of Kingman, KS 3 Sisters: Marye F. Haley of Burlington, KS, Judy Moore of Kingman, KS, and Patti Miller of Augusta, KS 5 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Theresa, son Walter A. Fudge, infant brother Harry Allen Fudge and three sisters Jackie Ann Bradshaw, Connie Eineichner and infant Deanna Kay Fudge. Cremation has taken place. MEMORIAL SERVICE: 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 20, 2011, at the Little Theater in the Recreational Building at Riverside Park in Iola, Kansas. Chaplain Lloyd W. Houk will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Gas Cemetery at a later date. MEMORIAL: The Tom Fudge, Sr. Memorial Fund Memorial gifts may be left with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, which is in charge of arrangements.
