Tony Hibbs, age 66, of Gas, Kansas passed away Saturday, November 23, 2019, at his home following his battle with cancer.
Tony was the third of four children born to Russell William Hibbs and Velda (Clay) Hibbs. He was born on January 28, 1953 at Salinas, California. Tony’s family moved to Kansas when he was a young boy. Tony grew up in the Elsmore / Savonburg area, attending school at Elsmore and Chanute. Tony worked as a truck driver for most of his working years. He also worked for BRB Construction of Topeka as a foreman for water and sewer line construction. Tony and his brother, Chester, owned and operated H&H Small Engine Repair in Humboldt, Kansas. In his retirement, Tony, continued to work on small engines to occupy his time. Tony especially enjoyed the time he spent building and running his pulling tractors. In his free time, he loved fishing and camping.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Mary Middleton.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Hibbs and granddaughter, Heidi Hibbs of the home; son, Jonathen Hibbs and Sarah Swogar of Madison, Kansas; four additional grandchildren, Domniquic, Cody, Jonathen and Ruxin; sister, Billie Sue Coleman and Ken Halstead of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and one brother, Chester Hibbs and Twyla Homewood of Humboldt.
