Verna Devine

Verna Mae Devine, 84, of Iola, Kansas, died Tuesday, February 1, 2011, at Windsor Place Nursing Center in Iola. Verna was born October 16, 1926, in Humboldt, Kansas, the daughter of William Fred and Mary Estes (Collison) Moore. SURVIVORS: One Sister: Phyllis Stroud & husband, Gary of Topeka, KS One Sister-In-Law: Norma Jewell Moore of Iola, KS 1 Nephew: Fred E. Moore of Osage City, KS 1 Niece: Jan Duerksen of Denver, CO 5 Great Nieces and Nephews Her beloved dog: Pixie She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jesse "Jake" Devine, brother Floyd Eugene "Gene" Moore, and nephew Brad Stroud. Cremation has taken place. MEMORIAL SERVICE: 11:00 a.m. Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Iola. The Rev. Trudy Kenyon Anderson will officiate. VISITATION: An hour prior to the service at the church. INURNMENT: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 28, 2011, at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Humboldt, Kansas.
