Vernon Morrison

Vernon Leo Morrison, Jr., 56, of Belle Plaine, KS, died Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Via Christi St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita. He was born July 29, 1956, in Garnett, Kansas, the son of Vernon Leo Morrison, Sr. and Shirley Nadine Wilson. He grew up in Iola and Wichita before the family settled in Arkansas City. He worked for Dillon's Grocery for a number of years. He moved to Belle Plaine in 2004. Fishing was one of his favorite pastimes. SURVIVORS: His Mother: Shirley Marr & husband, Phillip of Blanchard, OK 2 Sisters: Joyce Ilene Aguirre of Belle Plaine, KS and Burma Lea Brannon of Versailles, OK Half-Siblings: Stephen Morrison and Jason Morrison both of Kansas City, KS and Kelly Morrison of Gas, KS Step-Siblings: Phillip Marr, Jr. & Rocky Marr both of Arkansas City, Larry Marr of Stockton, MO, and Kim Marr of Maui, Hawaii He is also survived by 7 nieces and nephews, a host of step-nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon L. Morrison, Sr. and grandparents, George & Dannie (Gregg) Wilson.
