Vesta Lynn (Hoseney) Danielson, age 82, of Iola, KS passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at Heartland Meadows in Iola.
Vesta was born February 11, 1938 to Russell and Velma (Riggs) Hoseney in Coffeyville, KS.
Vesta graduated from Field McKinley High School (Coffeyville, KS) in 1955. She earned her RN in 1958 from Mission Baptist Hospital School in St. Louis, MO and her BSN in nursing from Pittsburg State University in 1981. Later, she earned her MSN in Nursing from University of Kansas in 1989. Vesta had a long successful career working as a nurse at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, Allen County Regional Hospital, as well as hospitals in Missouri and Texas. She impacted many, many people with her wise and loving care. After earning her BSN she taught nursing at Allen County Community College.
On January 22, 1976 Vesta married Dan Danielson in Independence, KS. Vesta was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, in Iola, KS where she served on many committees, was a trustee for several years, and helped in Awana. She was an excellent quilter, loved to read and had a quick, hearty laugh. Despite dealing with the untimely deaths of her two daughters and conquering stage 4 breast cancer, Vesta’s resiliency and joyful spirit was always evident.
Vesta was preceded in death, by her parents, her husband, her daughters, Becky Stanley and Kristina Lynn Ramsey, and a stepson Danny Danielson. She was greatly loved and survived by a brother Dr. R. Carl Hoseney, Manhattan, KS, a sister Jolene Toscano, Denver, Colorado, 3 nephews, Craig Moya, Steve Moya, Doug Hosney and 5 nieces Cheryl (Hoseney) Rife, Laura Moya, Terri (Hoseney) Brown, Melissa Moya, and Trena Moya and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
****A CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERVICE IN HONOR OF VESTA WILL BE HELD AT 11:00 A.M. ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2020 AT THE FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH IN IOLA, KANSAS.****
