Vincie Jo Cushing, age 83, of Kincaid, Kansas, died on Thursday, September 7, 2017, at Allen County Regional Hospital, Iola. She was born on August 25, 1934, in Ottawa, Kansas, the daughter of Cleo Wood and Naomi (Anderson) Wood. Jo graduated high school from Westphalia, Kansas. She then earned her degree in cosmetology. While working as a hairdresser in Moran, Kansas she met and later married Marion Lee Cushing. They married on September 1, 1956 at Westphalia, Kansas. Three children were born to this union. They made their home in Kincaid. While her children were young, Jo stayed at home with them. After her children were raised she went back to school earning her degree as an R.N. She worked at the Garnett Long Term Care Facility for several years until retiring. Jo loved to bowl, she also enjoyed fishing and later in life the Game Show Network entertained her. She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Peggy Lee Cushing; sister, Luella Ratliff; and one brother, Chester Wood. Jo is survived by two daughters, Connie Edgerton and husband Allen of Kincaid, Kansas; Diana Storrer and husband Jeff of Iola, Kansas; six grandchildren, Zachary Edgerton and wife Stephanie, Sarah Moore and husband, Michael, Jacob Edgerton and wife, Casi, Matthew Storrer, Jacob Storrer, and Heather Boren and husband, Dillon; seven great grandchildren, Brenton, Kinley and Aidynn Edgerton, Dexter Moore, Braylee and Tyler Edgerton, and Taylor Johnson; sister, Mary Cahoone and husband, Jim, of Cottonwood Falls, Kansas; brother, Chuck Wood and wife, Jean, of Westphalia, Kansas; brother-in-law, Gail "Tub" Ratliff of Westphalia, Kansas; sister-in-law, Ruth Wood, Bellevue, Nebraska; and Roger Cook and wife, Marlene of Burlington, Kansas. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, September 11, 2017, at the Kincaid Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Sunday evening, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Hwy. 54, Iola, Kansas.
