Violet Marie Askins

Violet Askins, age 89, of Garnett, Kansas, died on Friday, August 14, 2009, at the Anderson County Long Term Care Facility. Violet was born on June 6, 1920, at Richmond, Kansas, the daughter of Herman and Ella Etta (Gibbons) Goins. She was married to Maynard Askins; he preceded her in death on January 23, 1970. Violet was preceded in death by her parents;; and two brothers, Kenneth Goins and William Goins. She is survived by nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 18, 2009, at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel in Garnett, Kansas. The family will greet friends from 10:00 - 11:00 AM, prior to the service on Wednesday. Burial will follow in the Garnett Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to W.I.N.G.S.
