Virgil Lewis Rossman, age 84, of Richmond, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2017, at his home, on his 84th birthday. He was born on January 8, 1933, at Scipio, Kansas. Virgil was the third of nine children born to John and Agnes (Wolken) Rossman. Virgil was united in marriage to Patricia "Pat" Duke on December 5, 1955, at St. Therese Church, Richmond. They shared 61 years of marriage and enjoyed their three children. They moved to Roswell, New Mexico, where he served 2 years in the United States Air Force. They returned to the Richmond area where Virgil worked various jobs until going to work for Allied Systems, hauling cars for 25 years. He owned and operated V.P. RV Park in Richmond with his wife Pat for 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Amanda Jo Rossman. Virgil is survived by his wife, Pat Rossman; his sons, Ron Rossman and wife Becky of Ottawa, Kansas, Randy Rossman and wife Ronda of Richmond; his daughter, Susie Brown and husband Marc of Richmond; six grandchildren, Wade and Derek Brown, Stephanie and Jessica Rossman, Breanna Wuertz and Kyle Rossman; seven great grandchildren, Braden, Keaton, Taven, Weiland, Owen, Hunter, and Clara. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, January 12, 2017 at St. Therese Church, Richmond. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM, Wednesday evening at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and may be left in care of Feuerborn Family Funeral Service.
