Walter Kinney

Walter Loyd Kinney, 87, of Iola, Kansas, died Saturday, August 11, 2012, at his home. Walter was born July 21, 1925, at Humboldt, Kansas, the son of John Francis "Frank" and Beulia M. (Fitzmaurice) Kinney. He grew up in Humboldt and served in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked for Chrysler Corporation before working 40 years for The Boeing Company in Wichita. He moved to Iola in 2000. Walter married Velma Nadine Ard and had four children before they divorced. They later remarried and Velma preceded him in death May 4, 2010. Walter's second wife, Florence M. (Odaffer) Rancy, also preceded him in death January 26, 1997. SURVIVORS: 1 Daughter: Linda Bonner & husband, Donnie of Kansas City, MO 2 Sons: Steven Kinney & wife, Denise of Houston, TX and Darrell Kinney of California 1 Step-Son: Harley Rancy of Wichita, KS 14 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Kinney, a brother, John Kinney, and two sisters, Susie Kinney and Frances Pollman. Cremation has taken place and private family services will be held later. MEMORIAL: The Walter L.
