Walter Regehr

Walter F. Regehr, Sr., 89, of rural Iola, Kansas, died Monday, May 5, 2014, at the Allen County Regional Hospital. Walter was born August 4, 1924, at Inman, Kansas, the son of John and Eva (Fehdrau) Regehr. He grew up in Inman. On November 7, 1948, Walter married Kathryn L. Hiser. They made their home in Iola and he worked for Hiser Implement. He was mainly a farmer but over the years also sold Moorman Feeds, drove a school bus, and worked for Iola Milling before retiring. His wife Kathryn preceded him in death October 3, 1971. On February 11, 1973, Walter married Donna J. Townsley and she preceded him in death December 29, 1997. SURVIVORS: 5 Sons: Walt Regehr, Jr. & wife, Mary Ann of Iola, David Regehr & wife, Deborah of Iola, Larry Regehr & wife, Donna of Iola, Richard Regehr & wife, Mary Jo of Fairfax, VA, and Brian Regehr & wife, Shellie of Iola. 1 Daughter: Karen Herder & husband, Jay of Louisburg, KS 16 Grandchildren & 5 Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his brother Joe. VISITATION: 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 8, 2014, at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola. FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 9, 2014, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Iola.
