Raymond "Wayne" Bratcher, 79, of Iola, Kansas, died Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family. Wayne was born October 10, 1935, in Southland, Texas, the son of George Marion and Mattie Lee (Whittington) Bratcher. He grew up at Thackerville, Oklahoma and served in the U.S. Army. Wayne was a contractor and worked construction in different parts of the country. He married Yolanda J. Brown January 16, 1981 and they made their home in Thackerville. They moved to Washington and Oregon where he was a member of the Carpenter's Union. In 2000, he retired and they moved to Iola. He continued to work for local realtors and contractors. He was an avid gardener, fisherman and award winning coon hunter. Wayne had a giving heart and dearly loved his grandchildren. SURVIVORS: His wife: Yolanda "YoYo" Bratcher of the home 3 Children: Sheila Kessler & husband, Ronnie of Iola, Phillipe "Bo" Sealy & wife, Kathy of Platte City, MO, and Felicia Schubert & husband, John of Iola 2 Siblings: Marion Bratcher and Martha Lee Bratcher both of Thackerville, OK 7 Grandchildren: Ryan, Kimberly & Aaron Kessler, McKenzie, Colton & Abriana Schubert and Caleb Sealy He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Joe & Elgie Bratcher. Cremation has taken place. The family will host a memorial service 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 11, 2015, at the North Community Building in Iola. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Mount Zion Cemetery, Thackerville, Oklahoma. Flowers may be sent to the home at 502 S. Jefferson in Iola.
