Yvonne Price

Yvonne Marie Price, 74, of Iola, Kansas, died Friday, March 27, 2009, at Windsor Place Nursing Center in Iola, Kansas. Yvonne was born December 13, 1934, on a farm in Bourbon County, Kansas, the daughter of Paul L. and Pauline M. (Edwards) Ward. She graduated from Elsmore High School and then moved to Iola where she worked for the Miller Dress Factory. On December 26, 1954, she married Bart R. Thayer and they made their home in Iola. She worked various jobs including cleaning for people in their homes and in the housekeeping department in several nursing homes. Mr. Thayer preceded her in death on January 29, 1979. On December 15, 1984, she married H.T. Price. He preceded her in death on July 10, 2003. Yvonne was a member of the First Baptist Church in Iola. SURVIVORS: 2 Sons: Raymond Thayer of Winfield, KS and Rex Thayer of Columbia, MO 1 Brother: Max Ward of Colorado 1 Sister: Ann Hartley of Paola, KS 6 Grandchildren 8 Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by a brother. Cremation has taken place. GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Inurnment of the ashes will be 1:30 p.m. Wed., April 1, 2009, in the Iola Cemetery on the west edge of Iola. Dr. Michael Quinn will officiate.
