Zetta Anne Johnson

d. December 3, 2013

Zetta Anne Johnson, age 84 of Parker, passed away on December 3, 2013, at her home. She was born March 17, 1929, at Pittsburg, Kansas, the oldest daughter of Earl and Hazel (Hickman) Green. Anne graduated from Mound City High School, Mound City, Kansas in 1948. She worked at the grocery store in Mound City following high school; this is where she met her future husband, John. He was working in the area as a surveyor. On April 12, 1949 she married John E. Johnson at Corpus Christi, Texas. This union was blessed with four children, Vicki, Terry, Kimberli, and Mike. As a young girl Anne always wanted to marry a traveling man. John's work took the family to numerous states and foreign countries, including living in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for several years. In 1966 Anne and children moved to Parker, Kansas to be near her family while John worked in Nigeria. They made their home in Parker for the rest of their lives. Anne worked at the Greeley grocery store and Pence's Grocery Store and at Dr. Jerry Padfield's office in Garnett. She loved working in her yard and later in life she enjoyed doing word searches, but her greatest joy was her family. She always worked to make holidays and special occasions memorable. Anne will be missed for her giving nature and for her frankness sprinkled into her conversations with family and friends. Anne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John E. Johnson on April 1, 2007; and one sister, Lee Green in 1990. She is survived by her four children, Vicki and Mike Eastwood, Terry and Becky Johnson, Kim Johnson and loyal companion, Snoopee, and Mike and Lisa Johnson, all of Parker; seven grandchildren, Kyle and Lisa Eastwood, Kari and Wade Crump, Clint and Fran Eastwood, Jerred Johnson, Emily and Kelby Dickey, Brittanie Johnson, and Brandon Johnson; twelve great-grandchildren. Graveside inurnment will be held at 1:00 PM, on Friday, December 6, 2013 at the Fairview Cemetery, Mildred, Kansas.
